The most recent iteration of multiplayer begins on the promising note as Black Ops III’s specialists cover the screen. These will be the soldiers of humanity’s future, clad in titanium alloy armor, brandishing multi-million dollar weapons. They are also Black Ops III’s new layer of customization. You continue to have the standard loadout system with 10 slots to invest on weapons, items, and equipment–but specialists add a bit more nuance.
Each character carries a power weapon or special ability that charge more than once during the course of the match. You are forced to select between the 2, though, as just one could be equipped at any given time. The Outrider, as an example, can enter fights using the Sparrow compound bow, launching exploding arrows straight into the enemy team’s ranks.
